Os contribuintes dispõem de um conjunto de meios processuais para fazer valer os seus direitos e interesses em tempo útil, de forma plena e efetiva, nomeadamente dos meios impugnatórios de atos lesivos, do reconhecimento de direitos ou interesses, da ação de condenação à prática de atos devidos e dos meios cautelares. Os contribuintes podem recorrer à jurisdição administrativa e fiscal, que são órgãos com soberania para administrar a justiça em nome do povo nos litígios emergentes das relações jurídicas administrativas e fiscais, para a defesa dos seus direitos e interesses legalmente protegidos. O objetivo deste nosso contributo é o de apresentar uma breve panorâmica sobre a organização dos Tribunais Administrativos e Fiscais e o Processo Tributário em Portugal, passando-se, entre outros pontos, pelos princípios fundamentais do processo tributário.
